1. #NBCFail Lesson? Online Censorship Will Come Back to Bite You

In an interview with Bloomberg Law’s Lee Pacchia, Trevor Timm of the Electronic Frontier Foundation makes an excellent point that has implications for anyone conducting business on the internet today.

In short: “Censorship does not work.” More to the point: by complaining about journalist Guy Adams’ #NBCFail criticisms on Twitter, the media company essentially gave Adams “the ultimate follow friday.” Twitter suspended the account, but then re-instated with an apology. By then it was too late. Many, many, many thousands more knew what Guy Adams was complaining about than if they’d just let it all alone.

We’ll leave it up to the social media gurus to tell you what this means for customer relationships in the Social Age, but we suspect you get the point. See you in Twitter?
